Macintosh XL Can you tell me a little something about the Mac XL? - Actually, the Mac XL is not really a Macintosh at all! It's really a member of the Apple Lisa (which was the first type of computer made by Apple which had Graphical User Interface) family. The Lisa was originally marketed as a business machine, but didn't do too well, so many were thrown into a landfill (sad, but true) and later when Apple wrote a program called Mac Works (a program that basically emulated the Mac interface and ROM, and allowed users to use 400K Mac floppies and Mac software on their Lisa) they started selling off the extra Lisa 2s bundled with Mac Works as the Macintosh XL. I have heard that the XL stands for Extra Lisas, but that could be just a myth. What are the specifications for the Mac XL? - They're right here:
