Notes
The Macintosh II/IIx originally shipped in a number of configurations. Both systems require PAL type SIMMs in densities higher than 1MB, verify with your memory vendor that the SIMMs are compatible with the II/IIx.

The Mac II requires the FDHD Upgrade Kit, M6051/C, to utilize SIMMs larger than 1MB.

*If 4MB SIMMs are used in a Mac II, they cannot be installed in Bank A thus limiting maximum RAM in the Mac II to 20MB.

32-BIT Information
The ROMs in this system are not 32-bit-clean, but with the 32-Bit System Enabler under System 7.1 or MODE32 with versions of System 7 prior to 7.1, they can run in 32-bit mode and can take advantage of more than 8MB of physical RAM.

A PMMU is required in the Mac II when using the Apple 32 bit Enabler.
