Recent News (Updated: 2/5/2000)

Saturday, February 5, 2000 - I've added the link to TUCOWS Macintosh to the Links section (including a logo), and added the eBay logo also.

Tuesday, January 25, 2000 - I've updated the link to eBay on the Links pages so that it automatically takes you to the Apple hardware section. I added a link to http://www.acts.org/itoolstrick/, to the FAQ and Internet sections of this site, which explains how to connect to your iDisk account from a newer Classic Mac (I meant to post this much earlier).

Saturday, January 22, 2000 - I updated all of the links to gYounk's Mac 512 Site to it's new address at www.mac512.com (I meant to do this a week ago, but I've been studying for exams). I really wish I had done more, I've got to finish the 500 Series Screen Hinge fix, but I haven't yet. I can't believe I've gone almost a month without updating, well as this is the first update in 2000 I will soon be moving old news to another file and keeping this new. I watched Steve's MacWorld keynote speech again (on January 4th I think) using QuickTime 4, it was pretty cool (too bad that Quake III for MacOS X didn't work, I heard it worked fine on the floor though)!

Thursday, December 30, 1999 - I didn't have time to upload my changes last night, so I did it today.

Wednesday, December 29, 1999 - I've added a link to my local TUCOWS Macintosh (Hosted by SoverNet which is my ISP) to the PPP and Software sections of this site. I updated the link for Mac68kGames which I had missed when I had updated the other links to Mac68kGames' new address. I feel kind of bad that I haven't really added much signifigant lately (other than updated or added links), I just had to fix the screen hinge screws on my PowerBook 520, so I've started writing up a simpler explanation as how to do it (it can be found in 500ScreenHinge.html until I add it to the Troubleshooting section). I hope everybody had happy holidays (or just had a good couple of days if you don't celebrate holidays)! Happy and safe Y2K!

Wednesday, December 15, 1999 - I had to say goodbye to the link to The Classic Mac Users Home Page, it turns out that it has evolved into Classic Mac which I added a link to on 11/13/1999. Mac 68K Games has moved yet again, so I updated its link to the following new address: http://home.hawaii.rr.com/m68kg/. I added the link for MPW to the FAQ (as promised).

Saturday, December 4, 1999 - I've added a link to JAG's House's Manuals Page in the Troubleshooting section. I also added a response to the "Macintosh Programming" section of the FAQ regarding questions that I have recieved about where to find compilers for the Macintosh (includes links to where to download free compilers). Added a link to Ingemar's home page to the Links section (I think it needs to be placed in the programming section of the FAQ too, but I'm not sure where, I'll have to get to that later). I've added links to some software routers in the TCP/IP Networking section. Mad sum miner spelin erers fixt two... Man, do I hate that!

Monday, November 22, 1999 - I've updated the Network section of the site and added a home automation answer to the FAQ. I've also updated links to AppleTalk software for UN*X/Linux/BSD machines in the Cross Platform Compatibility.

Saturday, November 13, 1999 - I have added a link to Classic Mac (a new software site for Classic Macs), and images for some other sites, on the Links and Software sections.

Sunday, November 7, 1999 - I finally found the new address for Three Macs and a Printer (I've been searching for it for weeks now) and I have updated it wherever it appears on this site.

Saturday, November 6, 1999 - I've created an installer for internet applications which can be downloaded from the Software or PPP sections of this site.

Wednesday, October 27, 1999 - I've added images, in the Links section of this site, as links to the Classic Mac Users Home Page and Low End Mac. I've also added a link to MacWindows.com in the same section and the Cross Platform Compatibility section. Added links to where you can download or buy Mac versions of the Novell Netware Client to the Cross Platform Compatibility section. I have finally linked to the MacTCP Configuration section from all (I hope) the appropriate places on this site (which included an update of the TCP/IP section so that you can now learn how to install and configure the software required). In preparation for the "MacPPP Configuration" section, today I cropped and coverted all the screenshots for MacPPP so that I can start work on that section soon.

Sunday, October 10, 1999 - I've added links to places where you can buy or download required network software on the Cross Platform Compatibility section of this site, I've also fixed a mistake I made (on the same page) about which company produces which software for accessing Mac floppies under Windows.

Friday, October 8, 1999 - I've done more work on the MacTCP Configuration and Cross Plaform Compatibility sections. Anybody that is a member of the Mac 512 User Group, I remind you to go to the group chat on Wednesday, October 13, 1999!

Monday, October 4, 1999 - I've made a few minor changes (you probably won't even notice them) in the text of some pages, and I've linked to the Cross Platform Compatibility section of this site from the main page. I started a MacTCP Configuration section (which will soon be linked to under the Connecting To The Internet and TCP/IP sections of this site. I will also be adding a configuration section for MacPPP soon. I have uploaded an installer which I made for installing MacTCP and MacPPP, which can be downloaded from the MacTCP Configuration section (and soon the MacPPP Configuration section).

Thursday, September 23, 1999 - I mostly made minor updates to the FAQ page, but also added about another five lines to the Cross-platform Compatibility section for this site, which is still not linked to from the main page. I updated the picture used as a link to Networkable Mac Games (found on the Links section of this site). I've been doing a lot more programming lately (mostly for school, but also some freelance work), in my free time, so I haven't had as much time to work on this site, I wish I could though. Also, I plan to maybe start adding a section to support PowerBooks soon.

Saturday, September 11, 1999 - I updated a link for Mac 68k Games, which recently moved, and added a link for MacDownload.com on the Links and Software sections of this site. I've been working, slowly, on a Cross-platform Compatibility section for this site, which is not accessible through the main page of this site yet, but I've been really busy, so I'm not sure how soon I can complete it.

Monday, August 30, 1999 - This morning I wrote a page on Backup Battery Troubleshooting which can be found under the Troubleshooting section of this site. I have classes again, starting tomorrow, so I won't have as much time to update this site, but I'll try to keep adding new tidbits as often as possible.

Tuesday, August 24, 1999 - I've added a link to Mac's Diner to the Software and Links sections of this site, and a link to NetBSD.org on the FAQ section of this site. I've also added the specifications for the Mac XL (a.k.a. Apple Lisa 2 w/Mac Works) and the Mac SEFDHD to the Specifications section of this site.

Thursday, August 19, 1999 - I haven't worked on the site much lately, school is starting back up soon, so I've been working on other stuff, but today I added a graphic for my link to emulation.net on the Links page. I've also added a News button to the Navigation Bar at the top of my site's window (if you're viewing my site with frames).

Sunday, August 15, 1999 - I created a new picture ( WorkshopWelcome.gif) for the entrance to my site last night, so today I've added it to the entrance page (index.html or entrance.html). I've also added a link to The Mac Driver Museum on the System Software page and the Links page.

Saturday, August 14, 1999 - The address for The Classic Mac Users Home Page was bad, so I've updated the link to it's correct address which is as follows: http://unitus.org/classicmac/home.html.

Friday, August 13, 1999 - I've changed the Troubleshooting page a bit so that it will be more flexible in the future. I've started to adapt some Tech Info Library documents to a form that can be more easily understood (I hope), but none are in any form to be posted yet, so you'll have to wait a little longer.

MY E-MAIL ADDRESS HAS CHANGED! It is now as follows: AirMouse00@yahoo.com, if you have my address written down or in your address book, please change it (e-mail to my old airmouse@geocities.com account will still be forwarded to my new account, but not for long).

Sunday, August 1, 1999 - I updated my about page and added a link to my Yahoo Chat profile (http://profiles.yahoo.com/AirMouse00), and a link to GUI Central on the System Software section of this site.

Tuesday, July 27, 1999 - I finished the LocalTalk and EtherTalk pages (I don't know why I didn't earlier... I guess I thought I already had). I added a link to Networkable Mac Games multiple pages. I spent yesterday working on a TCP/IP network, I think that I've discovered that they really don't like to run over a cross-over cable... oops, I should have thought of that a bit earlier, it would have saved me a lot of frustration if I had.

Sunday, July 25, 1999 - I updated this site. I've added a link in the software section (and a copy of it on the links page), started a Troubleshooting page, which I didn't get very far on, and added this new news page.

Wednesday, July 21, 1999 - I didn't have the money to go to the MacWorld Expo, but with my trusty iMac (Revision B), and QuickTime 4, I watched Steve Jobs give his Keynote Speech live! It was great!
